Here are five interesting activities for visitors to Fuerteventura that will help them make the most of their vacation.

1. Hire a jeep - Going on a jeep or even a buggy safari is one of the best ways to explore Fuerteventura. Depending on how you like to travel, you could hire a jeep along with a driver, or drive the jeep yourself. These jeep and buggy safaris are constantly being reinvented and allocate time to stop by a cove along the way or stop for a bite to eat. The jeep safari can go over some rough terrain, but this only adds to the charm of the experience. One of the more popular safaris is the Taster Tour, which stops at a beach along the way, besides halting at various scenic places so that you can put your camera to good use. You can eat at one of the stops along the way, or even bring your own lunch.

2. Fly a kite - Fuerteventura is becoming an increasing popular destination for kite flying enthusiasts from all over the world. The kite flying trend began in 1987, when kite flying enthusiasts picked up on Fuerteventura's potential to host an annual kite flying competition, especially as it would mean staging the competition with strong trade winds. Although the competition happens once a year, there are always kite flying lessons to be had in the region.

3. Try kite surfing - A heady mix of surfing, wakeboarding and kite flying, kite surfing has really caught on in Fuerteventura since its invention more than a decade ago. There are schools on the island offering both beginners and experts the chance to use their equipment and learn new manoeuvres. Lessons include safety procedures. A beginner can take five to ten hours before he is skyworthy.

4. Go snorkelling - Snorkelling is a great way to experience the beaches of Fuerteventura and get a good look at the marine life. You do not have to be an expert at snorkelling, as there are a number of schools all over the island that specialise in snorkelling lessons, irrespective of whether you are a beginner or an expert. You can expect to see marine life like cuttlefish, sea urchins, sea cucumbers and more.

5. Go hiking - There are many places that are primed for hiking in Fuerteventura. From seaside walks to steep ascents, Fuerteventura leaves the choice to you.
